| Dear I-Church family, Jack & Keiko asked us to send this email, so that everyone knows the results from the open congregational meeting last Sunday 1st February. Wil and I were glad to see that many of you there and taking part in the meeting. It was also encouraging that Dr Des Soares, Dirk Klokmann (also an elder of Creek Rd), and Pastor Jens Norved were present to support I-Church as part of the wider body of Christ at Creek Road. The main decision of the congregational meeting was for the time of I-Church Sunday services to move to a 1:30pm start time, beginning on Sunday 15th February. This decision was taken so that I-Church can continue to meet in the main auditorium as usual, because Creek Rd will soon be introducing a second morning service (which will be starting at 10:30 or 11am). At the meeting we considered using a different space in the church so that we could continue to meet at 11:30, but generally it was felt that there was no other space as suitable as the main auditorium. An afternoon time may also be more attractive for some people who don't currently attend I-Church, or for friends who we might like to invite. We also discussed the extra roles which people are taking on to help share the load as Jack and Keiko prepare to return to Japan: Yihee will be choosing songs and coordinating the music team. Asami will be coordinating hospitality. Kayo will be coordinating the powerpoint and the production of the bulletin. Nobu will be translating the sermon when he is available Chie will be translating other parts of the service when she is available Wil is going to maintain the attendance records and continue to lead Thursday night Bible study. Dr Des will be preaching and coordinating guest preachers until a new pastor may be found. I hope this all makes sense! They have worked very very hard for the last 5 years in Brisbane to take care of i-Church. So please come and thank them for their fantastic missionary as well as wish them all the best!! | i-Church plans to visit the "Doulos", a Christian ministry ship in Brisbane port after the worship service on Sunday August 3rd. A guided tour of the ship by ship personnelis availabe at a $10 cost. Also a bookstore and a coffee shop are oon board for you to visit. The Doulos stays in port July 31 to August 18. | Jesus told his disciples not to worry. We need to hear this message even today Worry robs us of so much sleep and peace of mind. Jesus said that all the worry in the world will not change things. It can't add an hour to our lives nor one centimeter to our height. He pointed us to the flowers of the field and the birds of the sky. The heavenly Father who takes care of them is taking care of you, He said. You can trust Him and the words that He speaks. Read this account today in the Holy Bible in Luke chapter 12 and verses 22 to 34.
